Most people assume that pregnant women should not go to the gym or exercise at home to avoid causing any harm to the baby. That is a terrible mistake because exercise for pregnant women is not only recommended but also highly necessary to stay active, promote blood circulation, improve your level of stress and burn fat gently.

Exercise for pregnant women results in overall well being, taking a few precautions, and limiting exercise routines when the mother-to-be is an athlete or has been engaged in high impact fitness activities or bodybuilding. The best exercise for pregnant women should include walking, swimming and a low impact aerobics program.

Heart rate must never go above 130-140 beats per minute, so if you are already pregnant, make sure to start exercising within the limits that most heath care providers advise for pregnant women. Whenever you feel exhausted or too tired to continue a routine stop and cool down because it may be dangerous to your baby if you overheat.

Breathing, heart rate and moderation are the basics to watch when it comes to exercise for pregnant women. Drink plenty of fluids before, during and after your workout to avoid dehydration. Avoid exercises that require you being flat on your back after the first trimester, because these exercises put excessive pressure on your organs and the developing baby.

Each exercise for pregnant women should be performed slowly and fluidly, including common exercises such as cable curls, cable crossovers, lateral raise, lat pull down, triceps extensions, leg extensions, seated calf raise, and seated leg curls.
