The Important of Keeping Your Pregnancy Weight Gain Balanced

A pregnant woman should be careful about her diet and the measurement of her weight. It is very necessary to take care of her physical health and nutrition, as her general health and fitness can have a direct impact on the fitness and delivery of the baby. Clearly, if you are pregnant, you should expect a pregnancy weight gain, this is completely normal and you should not worry about this at all.

During the pregnancy a woman should have a balanced diet, rich with all necessary nutrients. A pregnant woman should also be conscious of what she might consider too large a pregnancy weight gain. Too much weight gain or loss of weight is very dangerous for both the mother and growing baby, so it is important to keep a balance.

The pregnancy weight gain varies greatly in different women as it is connected to their original physique and size. Each and every pregnancy is different, so there is no set pregnancy weight gain any one of us can expect. However, it is fair to say that a smaller pregnant woman should increase her weight while an already overweight woman need not to gain as much weight.

Normally the pregnancy weight gain ranges from 25-35 pounds for a typically healthy delivery. You can use pregnancy weight calculator to figure out your optimal weight gain which may determine the ratio " body mass index " BMI, calculation based on your weight and height. If BMI indicates 19.8Ibs then it means you are underweight and need to gain weight. If BMI ranges form 19.9 to 26Ibs then it is recommended to have weight of 25-35 pounds, showing the normality of physical structure and strength. When BMI shows the pointer between 26 to 29 then it is better to have weight of 15-25 pounds as you are considered over weight with this index.

The pregnant woman who is underweight should increase their weight while overweight woman should try to decrease its level. Having a low birth weight (less than 2500gm or 5.52 pounds) during pregnancy and delivery is extremely high risk and it is most likely that your doctors will have taken you into hospital for observation and additional support. According to medical expertise a low birth weight can increase the risks of infant mortality. Surviving babies run the increased risk of having asthma, other respiratory problems, ear infection and in some rare cases; cerebral palsy.

A massive unnatural pregnancy weight gain is very dangerous, this will cause backaches, varicose veins, fatigue, hypertension, and diabetes, all of which directly impact your comfort and ability to relax during labor and delivery. A pregnant woman who experiences an extraordinary weight gain will most likely have a complicated delivery. If you are overweight with a high index try to avoid all rich food, try to eat simple food which offers nourishment. It is also very important that you follow the instructions of your doctor and medical team as they will be worried about a significant pregnancy weight gain.

So try to check the rate of your pregnancy weight gain week-by-week and consult your doctor, if you have any serious concerns.
