Best Time to Conceive

The absolute best time to conceive is during ovulation. In fact, this increases a woman's chances of becoming pregnant by about four times. Many women become pregnant without being aware of these facts, yet for those of us who have been trying to conceive for some time, this information may be priceless.

To work out the best time to conceive, you will need to be in tune with your body. This means working out when you are ovulating. If you have a regular cycle, this can be reasonably straight forward, however for woman who have an irregular menstrual cycle, we recommend that they chart your own progress throughout the month. It is also possible to use additional tools such as an ovulation predictor kit.

Working out the best time to conceive is one thing, however you will still need to engage in sexual activity to take advantage of this optimum time. So if you're planning for a baby, it is very important that you discuss these plans with your partner, so that they are also prepared. One of the reasons for including your partner in these plans is because it is possible that they may have a low sperm count.

Having a low sperm count can have an impact on conception, regardless of it being the best time to conceive or not. For men folk with low sperm count, it is recommended that they do not have sex or ejaculate for three or four days prior to the best time to conceive. This ensures that sufficient sperm is available to fertilize the egg.

There's also an unscientific approach to when the best time to conceive is, there has been countless reports of women becoming pregnant at the point when everything just feels right. Often this is due to a relaxed emotional state, or the result of a particularly enjoyable day. Although it is obviously difficult to prove that being relaxed and calm has an affect on when the best time to conceive is, there is enough anecdotal evidence available to suggest that there is something in it.

This leads us to the conclusion that a combination of, knowing physically when the best time to conceive is and being in the right frame of mind plays a massive factor in conception. If you think about it, we often achieve our goals or perform better when we are free from stress or other pressures. So perhaps it is important to work on the ambience and atmosphere as much as understanding our bodies?
