Advice for A Successful Conception

If you are dreaming of becoming pregnant, it is vital that you make yourself aware of the phenomenon of conception. Essentially, conception is a female reproductive cycle which consists of three phases: ovulation, fertilization and implantation of the embryo in the uterine by the division of the fertilized eggs.

Conception normally occurs 14 days after the first day of menstrual period. This may differ if you have an irregular cycle but you can do an ovulation test on your urine to find out.

The rate of ovulation (release of eggs from ovary) increases in the mid part of the women's menstrual cycle. At this stage, follicle filled with eggs burst into pieces, releasing more eggs. This is called stigma when the formation of the corpus lutuem takes place by follicle. The corpus lutuem is responsible for the production of the most important female hormone progesterone. The progesterone helps in nurturing the baby until the placenta disappears. The hairy structure called cilia pushes the released eggs from ovary to uterus.

In the case of successful conception the released egg is expected to be present at the external part of the fallopian tube near the ovary. The egg normally requires 12 hours to be fertilized otherwise it will not last and expire due to the dryness of follicle and disappearance of uterine lining. In this case the chances of the commencement of the menstrual cycle will be increased and conception would not take place. On the other hand, when the fertilization of egg occurs the level of progesterone goes so high with thickness of uterine lining and conception maintains successfully.

For a successful conception, you might like to consider the following advice:

Firstly think 1-5 days of the pregnancy cycle for conception. You should count the first day when the period of menses starts, note down the date for the expected ovulation. Secondly, 6-11 days of this cycle are called very dull and inactive periods as there are no fertility and no menstruation. There is just preparation for the excretion of eggs. Thirdly 12-18 days of the pregnancy cycle for conception are the period of climax fertility and favorable time for sexual intercourse. Lastly 19-32 days of the cycle are considered risky for having sex because you may miss the chance of conceiving successfully.

Normally the ovulating time for women remains unnoticed. Just 25% women feel lower abdominal pain, caused by the bleeding from ruptured follicle. The change in the secretion of cervix, cervical mucus is considered ominous for the maintenance of conception. Normally after menstrual periods, cervical mucus disappears or remains very thick and stick, preventing the sperms to penetrate.

But when ovulation time comes, it becomes thinner and slippery automatically to facilitate the sperms' entrance into the vaginal passage - this stage is very well known for fertilization. You may notify the signs of ovulation with the rise and fall of body temperature. A slightest increase in the body temperature at least 5 degree F is caused by the increase in the level of progesterone. This is the prominent indicator of getting pregnant.

The rate of fertility between couples is variable ranging from months to years. The chances of successful conception in the first month are 25% in first 6 months, 60% while 80% within one year. The most favorable time for conception is near the ovulating period to enhance the chances of getting pregnant.
