How to Detect When You are Fertile

Ovulation, which generally takes place during the middle of your menstrual cycle, means a mature egg is released and is capable of being fertilized within twelve to twenty-four hours. When you ovulate, you have reached the peak of your fertility cycle. The time period which is approximately four days before ovulation is the point when you are most fertile and have the best chance of achieving pregnancy. This fertile period ends within twenty-four hours after the release of the egg. However, because sperm is capable of living within a woman's body for up to five days, their fertile period can actually be longer than twenty-four hours.

For women who desire to become pregnant, there are several steps you can take in order to improve your chances of conceiving. For instance, you'll want to accurately predict your days of peak fertility, and more specifically, the day you are expected to ovulate. These will indicate your best time for conception, and will help ensure your chances of becoming pregnant are improved. There are a number of products on the market designed to help predict these numbers for you, including ovulation testing, saliva ovulation predictor kit, a fertility thermometer and a variety of other methods.

It may seem like a lot of work, but if you accurately predict your peak fertility time, you'll drastically increase your chances of becoming pregnant. If you've been trying to conceive with no results so far, you may find that these ovulation predictors work wonders for you and your partner. Whatever the case, there's no doubt that your best chance of conceiving is during your peak days of fertility.
