Increasing Your Chances of Fertility

The best way to increase your chances of having a baby is to take steps that have been proven to improve your fertility. For example, cutting out smoking and drinking alcohol and increasing the amount of exercise you do. You can also take a closer look at your diet, as there are certain foodstuff which is known to have a positive or detrimental affect on fertility.

Before you read through the information below, it is important to note that these are examples of how to improve your fertility. It is not the magic beans that will make you pregnant immediately, and by the same account we recognize that it is possible for a woman who smokes, drinks whiskey and eats nothing by hamburgers all day to become pregnant.

Foods that are known to increase fertility

  • Surprisingly, tea is one of the best ways to increase fertility. In particular Green Tea has become very popular for women looking to conceive. The reason for the increased fertility when drinking tea is because it contains a high amount of natural antioxidants which improve the immune system.

  • Fresh orange juice, carrots and other fruit and vegetables which is high in vitamin C have a positive affect on fertility. Again, this is because it naturally boosts the immune system.

  • Fresh milk, coconut milk or other food and drinks that are high in calcium. Calcium has a positive affect on bone strength and teeth.

  • If you have been researching about getting pregnant and looking at ways to increase your fertility, you must have come across folic acid. It is important to take additional supplements of folic acid to help reduce the risk of neuro-tube defects.

  • Drink plenty of water, at least three points a day. Water is extremely important to our bodies, it helps to keep it healthy, reduce headaches from dehydration and keep our skin smooth. Often just feeling healthy can boost our fertility.

Foods that are know to have an adverse affect on fertility

  • Many doctors and medical professionals will advice you to stay well away from certain seafood. Especially sea food which contains mercury which has been proven to harm some babies.

  • Try to only eat foods that provide some kind of benefit to your body. Sugar or sweets do nothing for our bodies apart from help to decay our teeth and increase the risk of diabetes. Plan your diet and the food you eat to have maximum affect on fertility.

  • Reduce the amount of stimulant foods or drinks that you consume which includes caffeine. Coffee can increase the chances of reduced quality sleep, which can induce stress which in turn can have an impact on the regularity of our periods.

As you can see, a healthy balanced diet can have a positive impact on your fertility level. Generally, it is best to stick with natural food types, try to stay clear of processed foods like sugar. Tea is always better than coffee, so try to make these subtle changes early if you would like to increase your fertility, and therefore your chances of becoming pregnant.
