Infertility and the Emotional Effects

Infertility - is a term that refers to couples that are unable to arrive at conception after a period of a year having unprotected intercourse. Envisaging the symptoms of your fertility is a good method to keep up a correspondence with your body, your emotions and your physical condition. This means it is important to really get to know your own body and menstruation cycle. Some women have very irregular cycles, so they will have different stages during each month when they will be more fertile than at other times.

It is a situation faced by lots of couples around the world when they are incapable of conception. More often than not when a couple is not able to conceive, the female partner is normally blamed, but in reality fertility or lack of fertility can affect both male and female.

The typical causes of reduced fertility for males consist of sperm production problems, impediment in the sperm's delivery system, injuries to the testicles, low or high hormone production, anatomical problems, varicocele, side effects of drugs, and the quality of the sperm, which is referred to as low sperm count. For men, fertility can be affect by their alcohol and smoking intake as well their general fitness and health.

When infertility turns out to be a subject matter to cope with, the emotional and stress levels can be multiplied, this will also have an adverse affect on fertility. In a way, it becomes a vicious circle, the more you worry about fertility the more stressful you become. Being stressed is not the best precursor for conception.

So how can we ensure that our fertility does not affect our moods or cause undue depression? Well the simplest method is to relax more. Certainly, this is easier said that done. Yet, it has been medically proven that relaxation enhances our chances of becoming pregnant. Worrying about fertility is the greatest source for depression, so why not look at the symptoms of this worry?

If you've been trying for a baby for over a year and having sex without protection, then it is a good idea to seek medical advice. There's an old saying that it is pointless to worry about the things you can not control, yet you can control your knowledge about whether or not you and your partner have any fertility issues. Make an appointment and establish whether there is a medical reason for not conceiving so far. If there is a problem, you might reduce stress in one area and be able to focus on a solution.

If neither of you have any fertility problems, then it is probably an emotional issue that is holding you back, or perhaps something to do with the timing of your intercourse. Again, taking control of the situation and reading up about when the most optimum time for intercourse is will help you to focus.

Fertility can be very complex, yet it is by no means beyond our comprehension. Research and knowledge about our own bodies will help you to increase your chances of conception.
