Help Getting PregnantIt's not always easy getting pregnant, society has changed quite dramatically since our grandparents were children. During their time, medication was less sophisticated, there was less education about diet and health and as a result the life expectancy was a lot shorter than it is today. It's also fair to say that the role of women was slightly different, it would be rare for women from our grandmother's generation to expect and demand a career, in fact they were expected to stay at home and produce babies, and subsequently look after them. Interestingly, scientists would argue that they got part of this equation right. This is because younger women find it a lot easier to conceive and therefore produce babies than older women. It would have been very unusual for a woman to be without child past her twentieth birthday one hundred years ago, even as little as fifty years ago. Now because more and more women are enjoying the careers they deserve, they are putting off having children until they are a little older, often into their thirties. When you think that our body is in premium baby making condition in our late teens and reduces as we get older, it is little wonder that some of us need help getting pregnant. Fortunately, medication, education and our understanding of the conception process has dramatically improved in the last thirty years or so. Whilst it used to be unheard of for a woman to be having a baby as she nears forty, it no longer attracts a second glance. Society has changed, and in our opinion for the better.
