Getting Pregnant Isn't That Easy!

Getting pregnant is all about magical timing. It is incredible to think about what needs to go right on cue in order for a women to conceive. So complex are our bodies reproductive processes, it is with amazement and wonder that any of us actually become pregnant. Contrary to popular belief, getting pregnant is not as easy as it is cracked up to be!

So how do you go about getting pregnant, when it is meant to be so hard?

The most obvious and easiest way to get pregnant is by having lots of sex. This is because for a women to get pregnant her eggs need to be fertilized. A women is at her most fertile during the stages of ovulation. So sex during this time is more likely to result in getting pregnant than any other time during the month. So a woman can increase her chances of getting pregnant by knowing what time of the month she is ovulating.

For those that have been trying to get pregnant for some time, they maybe interested to learn that there is a four day window in each month when sexual intercourse is more likely to result in the woman getting pregnant.

In addition to lots of sex, there are other ways to increase your fertility and therefore your chances of getting pregnant, these include looking at your general health and fitness and eating the right food and drinks.

A visit to the doctor will confirm that you should give up smoking and drinking to increase your chances of getting pregnant. Smoking and drinking also affects your partner's fertility, so it is also a good idea for them to stop if you have been having difficulty getting pregnant.

General fitness is also crucial to getting pregnant. It has been proven that being underweight as well as overweight can have a direct impact on your fertility, to improve your chances of getting pregnant you should consider regular exercises. If you're not a gym type of person, you should consider regular swimming, yoga or regular swift walks. By any account, a healthy fit person is known to have less complications during pregnant and an easier labor than unfit or over weight women, so it is definitely in your interest to start looking after yourself.

Take a good look at your diet as well. Plenty of fruit and vegetables which are rich in vitamins will help. Your doctor will also advise you to take additional folic acid supplements to reduce the risk defects and Spina Bifida. Getting pregnant is a natural reaction to two people having sex, however sometimes our bodies require a helping hand.

You might also want to reduce the amount of coffee you drink, in particular caffeine. Coffee is known to increase our chances of stress and impact on our natural sleep, so if possible try to swap your morning coffee with a more healthy green tea. Tea is known to increase your immune system. If you find you just can't cope without a coffee, try going down the decaf route. As you will learn, getting pregnant is not easy, if you can help your body as much as possible, you can only increase your chances.
