Signs of Ovulation - The Different Signs and Increasing Your Chances

Fortunately, there are many women that are lucky enough to never have to worry about the different signs of ovulation. They are able to become pregnant with apparent ease, or in some cases were not even thinking about becoming pregnant in the first place. However, there is also a good number of women who are not so lucky, these women will most likely start to learn more about the different signs of ovulation in order to increase their chances of getting pregnant.

Modern research has proven that it is better to have sexual intercourse near the time of ovulation in order to increase the chances of becoming pregnant. Ovulation is the course by which your body frees one or more eggs from your ovary. If the egg is fertilized and productively implants, then congratulations, you're pregnant.

When the signs of ovulation are on show, a woman is at her most fertile, releasing the eggs from her ovary. Being at her most fertile, means that this is the best time to try and conceive, in fact research tells us this is the optimum time during the month to make babies.

The first question is how do you determine that you are ovulating. This is worked out by counting down the days from your last period. For example, if you have a regular 28 day menstrual cycle then 12-14 days are more appropriate and if you have 30 days menstrual period then the best ovulating period is 15-17 days.

You can also determine the ovulation period by using an ovulation predictor test or charting ovulation manually. There are many signs of ovulation, you just need to have a good understanding of your body and the physical signs it produces. One of the many signs of ovulation is that the breasts will become more tender and swollen.

Secondly women can feel a slight discomfort due to abdominal cramping. Another of the more common signs of ovulation is slight vagina discharges, not a period type discharge, but a white, thin and slippery fluid, which is often referred to as cervical mucus secreted form cervix. Another of the signs of ovulation is the change in position and firmness of the cervix, which changes ever so slightly, you would need to be in tune with your body to notice this though.

Many women are able to predict exactly when they will ovulate by monitoring their basal body temperature on a daily basis with a thermometer. A higher level of basal body temperature is often one of the signs of ovulation. When you become pregnant, you will notice the temperature will remain higher throughout the pregnancy.

In summary, if you have been trying to conceive for a number of months without success, it is possible that you are having sexual intercourse at times of the month which are not best suited for conception. Have a read through the different signs of ovulation again, once you understand how important a part it plays in becoming pregnant, you might decide to look closer at your own signs of ovulation.
