Second Pregnancy
Wow, these are exciting times. Your family is growing, a second baby on the way. At least the concept of pregnancy is not new to you and that you know what to expect for the next nine months. Or so you thought, you should know at this stage that no two pregnancies are the same!
Sometimes, you may experience completely different symptoms, with the second pregnancy, for example with baby one you might have had to put up with chronic morning sickness, yet with the second pregnancy you might not have any problems in that area at all. You might also feel different strains and sprains in your different muscles, it's all completely normal and nothing to worry.
You will find that depending on how comfortable you were with your first pregnancy, determines how close an eye your Doctor keeps on you throughout your second term. If you experienced complications, it is very likely that you will be kept under closer observation, regardless of how smooth or otherwise you feel that everything is going.
In our experience, many women enjoy the second pregnancy a lot more. They are more comfortable about being pregnant and do not have the inevitable fears associated with being pregnant for the first time. Clearly, being confident about what to expect allows you to relax more and take things in your stride.
One area that might pose some potential difficulty is if you already have other young children, of course they will be vying for your attention and are always high energy. It is important that you try to get as much “me” time as possible, so if you can arrange for your partner, friends or family to help you to achieve this - try to do it as often as possible.
