Finding Support After A Miscarriage
In the eyes of a woman who has just lost her baby, the world can be dark and gloomy. She may choose to hate herself and become isolated, away from those who used to be close to her. Women who have experienced a miscarriage deal with a bitter salad of feelings – guilt, depression, anger and grief are just some of them. But each grieving parent must be made aware of the support that is around her, so that she can move on and continue to see life as it really is – bright and inspiring.
Doctors
Doctors provide the medical knowledge women need to understand the situation. They need to know it wasn’t their fault, and doctors can explain what women wouldn’t be able to understand otherwise. Doctors can also give the go signal to when a woman can start trying for a baby again. Furthermore, they can suggest counseling services which a woman and her partner can go to for grief management.
Counseling Services
People here are therapeutic and are knowledgeable in the normal reactions to loss. They will help a woman (and her partner) acknowledge the experience as well as guide them to move on. Counselors do not defy the normal grieving process. Their job is to make sure after the grief has passes, the woman can move on.
Support Groups
Knowing she isn’t alone can help her build confidence in her experiences. There are several support groups with women who have experienced a miscarriage, one or perhaps several times in their lives. Theirs are inspiring stories to listen on, and any one who joins the group can learn.
