Miscarriage Symptoms Continued
Miscarriage symptoms can vary from women to women, usually they include more than one symptom and may occur over a period of days, however there are common symptoms that we should be aware of and look out for, these include:
-
Bleeding from the vaginal area, especially bleeding that is accompanied with pain. In many cases, bleeding or spotting is a normal symptom of pregnancy during the first trimester. The level of bleeding will be different in each person, so if you think you are experiencing miscarriage symptoms, seek urgent help.
- An unusual pain or cramps in the pelvis or stomach area. If you experience pain and bleeding, these are common miscarriage symptoms.
Whilst we are always vigilant about miscarriage symptoms, it is often difficult to understand why a miscarriage has happened. Physically, they occur when the fetus and placenta are separated from the wall of the uterus. Why this physical reaction happens is still at times a complete mystery to the medical profession, some claim it is our body’s way removing an unhealthy baby, others claim that it is result of lifestyle and health. However, the most common reasons are:
An abnormal fetus is to blame for most miscarriages during the first trimester. This is a result of the genes, which are defective and are passed to the fetus from the parents. There is a higher chance of miscarriage in older women due to the fact that there is a higher chance of having defective genes.
If a miscarriage is experience during the second trimester, this is nearly always the result of an illness or ailment in the mother.
The reason that we have provided the possible causes of miscarriage as well as the more common miscarriage symptoms is that many women find it very difficult to get over the experience of a miscarriage. This is obviously understandable, as in most cases we’ve already stated to picture our new life with our new family.
However, it is important to note, that in most miscarriages, there is absolutely nothing you could have done. If it was going to happen, it was most likely to happen anyway, even with advanced warnings and miscarriage symptoms there is little we can do to change the affects of nature. It is important that you understand this as it is a good way to deal with the obvious trauma.
Often the best thing to do if you have experienced any of the more common miscarriage symptoms is to seek help as soon as possible. If your medical support team feel that you are at risk, they will most likely request that you stay in hospital under observation for some time. Some women are identified early as being more likely to experience miscarriage symptoms than others, these are women that have already miscarried or more mature expectant mothers.
Having miscarriage symptoms and subsequently miscarrying should not be the end of your plans to start a family. Unfortunately, it happens to a lot of women before they go onto to realize their dreams of a settled family and healthy children.
