Emotionally, the early signs of pregnancy can be the hardest. This is especially if the baby was unplanned or follows previous complications such as miscarriage. Previous problems or lack of knowledge can be very worrying and lead to anxiety, so we've put together a common list of worries or concerns that women have during the early signs of pregnancy.
Can I still have sex?
Many women describe a growth in their sex drive when they first find out that they are pregnant. Although at the same time, others prefer not to have sex at all during the pregnancy. If you are safe, there should not be any reason why you can not maintain a healthy sex life, although it is often best to be less frantic than usual.
If you have experienced complications or a miscarriage before, you are advised not to take part in sex for the first three months or so. These are the crucial months in a pregnancy, so you may prefer to be safe.
I'm bleeding - is that normal?
Bleeding is perfectly normal during the early stages of pregnancy. Not all women will experience bleeding, so it is not surprising that people worry about it. The best thing to do if you experience bleeding is to visit your Medical Doctor, your state of mind is important during the first trimester, so any health worries should be dealt with immediately.
How can I make sure my baby is healthy?
There are no guarantees, however the best course of action is to make sure that your health is at its optimum level. This means no alcohol, cigarettes and drugs, try also to avoid highly stressful situations. It is important to eat the right food and maintain regular exercise.
During the early stages of pregnancy, you will most likely experience some of the more popular symptoms such as fatigue or morning sickness. So it is important that you get plenty of rest. Remember that your body is going through some enormous changes.
If you are still worried, seek urgent medical help.
The usual signs have stopped?
This is not always a sign that anything untoward has happened. Women experience pregnancies in different ways. If you've stopped being sick or feel livelier this may be because you have entered the second trimester.
If you're convinced that something is wrong, then you should seek urgent medical advice. However, in most cases it is nothing to worry about, it is just the added stress of becoming pregnant that is worrying you.
The early signs of pregnancy or more importantly the early stages of pregnancy can be an emotional roller coaster for some women. This is because there are a huge amount of hormones and changes happening to your body, it's also natural to have worries about becoming a mother.
