How to Tell If You Are Pregnant
Ah, the age old question; how indeed do you tell if you are pregnant? The quick answer is reasonably straight forward, our bodies are sophisticated enough to provide us with hints or symptoms as to our condition. Much like an incoming flu bug will have you reaching for the tissues days in advance; your body will provide you with subtle signs that you are pregnant. Hopefully, these signs will motivate you to seek confirmation.
There is of course a more complicated answer, that is that our body is so finely tuned, so ingenious that short of buying air time during your favorite TV program declaring your condition, it is wholly difficult to ignore them, even for the most non responsive amongst us. These are called the primary symptoms of pregnancy.
In almost all cases of pregnancy, the woman has an inkling she may indeed be expecting. Call it a six sense, intuition or whatever you want, the fact is that apart from the very rare cases you will know when you're pregnant, you'll just know. Sometimes the inkling may prove incorrect and a test will be negative, the point is that something inside of you drove you to seek clarification. Almost always, these are the more physical signs of pregnancy.
And yet, these are not always the cast iron tells we're often led to believe. For example, a missed period is often an early sign of pregnancy. This is despite there being many other reasons for a woman to miss a period, for the more irregular amongst us this sign of pregnancy becomes even more difficult to see for what it may be. What about a missed period in conjunction with one or other symptoms of pregnancy?
This might be enlarged breasts, uncomfortable constipation, a desire to visit the bathroom a little more than usual. Perhaps you have a constant headache or the classic sign of pregnancy; morning sickness? All of the above on their own may not give you any reason to consider you might be pregnant, however two or more at the same time might.
The point that we're trying to make with this article is that there are many signs that might be construed as you becoming pregnant. Be they physical or emotional, all are proven symptoms of pregnancy, all are signs experienced and documented by pregnant women the world over. Yet, despite this the only cast iron guaranteed way of how to tell if you are pregnant is via a blood test from your doctor or other medical professional. Even a pregnancy test can only claim to being 99% accurate, leaving a 1% chance of it being wrong.
Our advice is simple, listen to your heart and look out for the inevitable signs and clues provided by your body. If you have reason to believe you are pregnant, take a pregnancy test kit. If that comes back as positive, book an appointment with your Doctor as soon as possible.
