Classic Signs of Early Pregnancy

Although it is true that not every woman suffers from the same signs of early pregnancy, it is certainly the case that all women receive some signs, otherwise how else would they know that they are pregnant? There are some absolute classic signs of early pregnancy, we've gone into detail below.

Swollen and tender breasts and nipples

Most likely to be the first of the physical signs of early pregnancy. Your breasts will be tender to touch and may feel swollen when you touch them, many women also complain that blood vessels or veins are more visible around the breast area.

Tiredness and fatigue

For most women, this is the worst of the signs of early pregnancy because it makes them feel as though they have lost control of their body. The fatigue is a result of the massive changes happening inside of your body and the increase in the amount of chemicals and hormones.

Increased Basel body temperature

Many women chart their Basel body temperature in order to establish when they are at their most fertile. If you are pregnant, you will notice a raised Basel body temperature, this will remain raised throughout the pregnancy.

More frequent visits to the bathroom

One of the most uncomfortable signs of early pregnancy is that you may need to urinate more frequently. This is a result of the uterus growing and pressing up against the bladder and a common sign of pregnancy.

Spotting or slight bleeding

Another one of the signs of early pregnancy that can be misconstrued. Small spots of blood that are brown or pink in color may appear shortly after fertilization. This form of spotting is different to a normal period, so you should be able to notice.

Feeling of sickness or full morning sickness

Often the first time we experience morning sickness, we put it down to something we ate or a bug we picked up. It is not until we have suffered for a few days on the trot that we start to think about the possibility of being pregnant.

Food cravings

This is one of the early signs of pregnancy that everyone knows about, almost that it has become more of a stereotype than a symptom of pregnancy. However, it is true, many women experience a desire or craving for certain foods they might not usually touch, although how many actually opt for pickles and peanut butter is not known.

Headaches

This is one of the signs of early pregnancy which might not necessary make you think you are pregnant. The headaches are caused by an increase in hormones and the amount of blood circulating your body.

Dizziness or drowsiness feelings

Again, similar to the symptom above, on its own it will never make you think that you are pregnant, however if you have a few of the other signs of early pregnancy, you mum radar might start to bleep.

Moodiness

You may find that your moods are up and down, this is a direct result of all of the different hormones and chemicals bouncing around inside of your body.
