Signs of Pregnancy to Look Out For
The difficulty with the different signs of pregnancy is that the symptoms on their own could actually point to many different ailments. So in most cases, a women will think she is pregnant based upon a number of factors. Usually, there is a general feeling of being pregnant. It's very hard to explain, however many woman already know they are pregnant before taking a pregnancy test.
Of course, there are a large number of stories where women have not noticed the different signs of pregnancy for months. Usually, this will involve women who have very irregular cycles, because they have no reason to think they are pregnant, it is often the last thing on their minds. It must be an amazing shock when they eventually find out that they are pregnant.
Let's take a look at the different signs of pregnancy that you'll probably want to be on the look out for. The most obvious place to begin is with a missed period, for regular women, a missed period is one of the most obvious signs of pregnancy, however we already know that many women have irregular cycles. So a missed or late period is not the best indicator of pregnancy for all women. A missed period can also be caused by a sudden increase or decrease in weight, so to automatically assume it is one of the signs of pregnancy can often lead to disappointment, or relief, depending on which side of the fence you're standing.
Another of the more well know signs of pregnancy is morning sickness. The caricature of the pregnant lady being sick every morning, feeling rough and unable to eat any food is not a million miles away from the truth. Yet, not all women experience morning sickness, so again it is not a cast iron certainty that you are pregnant if you're being sick in the morning. Of course, apart from being one of the signs of pregnancy, it could also point to other problems such as food poisoning or a bug.
You might also experience changes in shape and size in your breasts. One of the more immediate physical signs of pregnancy is the increased hormones racing around your body. These hormones are helping to prepare your body for the changes necessary for pregnancy. One of those changes is in your breast area, as it is natural to use our breasts for feeding our children, the hormones are helping the breasts prepare themselves to produce milk. Your breasts will initially feel more tender to touch and perhaps a little heavier than normal, this will be the norm throughout the pregnancy.
There are other more general signs of pregnancy to look out for, they include headaches caused by the increase in chemicals and hormones in your body. You might also experience pains or aches in certain areas, in particular the lower back and the stomach area. One of the least convenient signs of pregnancy is that you will need to visit the bathroom more frequently, this is a result of the uterus pushing up against your bladder.
