The affect on the grandparents can also be interesting, at the very first signs of pregnancy, you may find that they are keen to be involved and will actively make suggestions or comments. If you are not happy with the involvement of the grandparents, or would prefer it if your in laws were a little less interfering, it is important that you make your preferences known. You don't need to have a full blown argument to get your views across; instead you can politely explain that as the mother, you're happy to make your own decisions. At the first signs of pregnancy, it is crucial for you to have your mind set right. The only things that should really matter are your health and the health of your unborn baby. All other activities should be about those objectives. Start to plan ahead, if you are working you may want to warn your employers that you will be requiring time of before and after the arrival of your baby. Be careful though, some employers start to worry at the first signs of pregnancy, they often think that they will be left in the lurch, especially when you take time out following the birth.
