Vaginal Cramping
During pregnancy, there are many new things happening to your body. It's important when you're pregnant to monitor your body for any signs of trauma or distress, such as vaginal cramping. While some vaginal cramping is normal, it can be a sign of a serious condition when paired with other warning signs such as bleeding.
Throughout the first trimester of pregnancy, a miscarriage is more likely to occur during this time than at any other stage in your pregnancy. With that being said, it's important that you keep an eye out for any unusual signs or symptoms. During a miscarriage, you'll experience severe vaginal cramping as well as bleeding. Tissue may also pass through the vagina, signaling a miscarriage.
Vaginal cramps can also be a sign of an ectopic pregnancy, but these are harder to diagnose. Pain usually feels worse than menstrual cramps, and can be accompanied by bleeding, low levels of a certain hormone and abdominal pain. You should be warned that if you've had a previous ectopic pregnancy, you're at greater risk for another one and should be in tune with your body's signs to know when something might be wrong.
While a minimal amount of vaginal cramping is normal during pregnancy, it's important to note the other symptoms that may occur along with it. These may signal problems that need to be treated and diagnosed right away. With proper attention paid to your body, you should be able to figure out when anything goes wrong, and then be treated accordingly.
