Pregnancy and Birth

The final period of pregnancy is birth. While the rare miscarriage can happen, a devastating event that is wished upon no one, the long period of pregnancy usually ends with a joyful welcome to the newest addition to a family. There are a couple things to note, however, about this final stage of pregnancy.

Birth usually occurs nine months after the baby was first conceived. Due to the technology that has been present for quite some time now, parents can easily find out the relative time period, usually a span of a few weeks or days, in which their baby should be born.

The best thing to do once you enter this period is to prepare for the inevitable trip to the hospital as much as possible. Keep suitcases packed with clothes in case of an overnight stay, and make sure the car is ready to go as soon as possible to the hospital. Family members should do this work because the pregnant woman should not have to lift a finger. You never know when the water will break, not even the best doctors can say exactly when it will be, so being prepared is the next best option.

Once in the hospital, relax and get ready for an exciting and possibly long birth. While the process may be painful, the end result is no doubt worth the effort. The long nine months of creating a baby and developing it in your womb are almost over, but birth is the hardest part for most females to get through. Being prepared is the best way to make the process as easy as possible.
