Fever during Pregnancy
If you are suffering a fever during pregnancy it is extremely important to contact your doctor immediately. Most fevers woman suffer from during pregnancy aren't usually anything to be concerned about but it is vital when pregnant to always ensure the safety of your baby at all times.
Reducing the symptoms of a fever during pregnancy
There are a few things you can do to reduce your fever, these include:
- Drinking plenty of fluids such as water or fruit juice
- Resting in bed
- Taking warm baths
- Using a standalone fan in the living room to cool you down
It is important to stay calm and not to worry too much if you are suffering a fever. After you have seen your doctor you should go home and rest and follow the guidelines set out above.
Treating a fever during pregnancy with medication
You are ok to take certain medications during pregnancy, one of which is Paracetamol which lasts around 6 hours. Stay away from any medication that you don't know is safe to take while pregnant and always check with your doctor first.
