Pregnancy Stages

There are three known pregnancy stages or trimesters that separately distinguish the development of growing baby namely first, second and third trimester. The first pregnancy stage basically covers the basic development of baby thru conception. This is also the time where the body experiences intense hormonal changes that frequently result to morning illness, mood swings and irritability. During this time the breasts are quite tender and may actually start to enlarge. The baby on the other hand is developed into an embryo with the early growth of eyes, ears, fingers and toes.

The morning sickness begins to go away with the advent of second pregnancy stage but the pregnant woman may possibly experience some headaches, dizziness and backaches. During the second stage of pregnancy, the baby is surrounded with a fine hair called lanugo and her or his bones are likewise developing quickly. It is in this stage that the mother literally feels the development progress of her baby because of the gradual expansion of her belly. Weight gains of pregnant woman are also significantly noticeable at this stage.

The last pregnancy stage is more popularly known as the third trimester. This pregnancy stage involves the completion of vital organ developments of the baby. This is also the stage wherein the baby starts to gain weight as fat starts to develop under the skin. By the middle of this pregnancy stage, the baby is starting to descend into the birth canal in preparation for labor and delivery. The mother on the other hand starts to experience frequent urination and pressure on her pelvic as her baby descends. The breasts may be more swollen and milk may be already leaking at this period. This pregnancy stage ends with the delivery of the newborn baby.
