Stages of Pregnancy - What's Happening Inside Your Body

For most women it makes perfect sense to be aware of the different changes that will take place in your physical figure during pregnancy. You should know the different stages of pregnancy and what is happening inside of your body. The duration of pregnancy can be divided into three stages, each stage consisting of three months almost called trimester. Each one of the stages of pregnancy has different unique experiences, both emotionally and physically.

Pregnancy is a very extraordinary time for you and your partner. Knowing what is happening to you and your growing baby during the stages of pregnancy will help you both to enjoy this exhilarating period in your lives. Starting with pre conceptual care, you get information on how conception takes place and then look at pregnancy and just how your baby will change week by week.

It is normal to experience some minor discomforts during various stages of pregnancy and you will want to know how to cope with them. More serious problems can occasionally occur so it important for you to recognize the symptoms and seek immediate medical help.

As you enter the different stages of pregnancy your relationship with your partner may also experience slight changes from first to final trimester, especially with regards to sexual activity. You can know what is going on the inner side of your body by using a pregnancy calendar, and sharing the different stages of pregnancy together so that they do not feel left out.

Different stages of pregnancy

First trimesterDuring the first trimester, you will encounter a lot of crucial symptoms e.g. change in the shape and sizes of your breasts, fatigue, tiresome, nausea, and frequent urination. At the final phase of first trimester, the size of the uterus increases to around the size of a large orange, the size of the baby is the same as a strawberry.

Second trimester: In the second trimester, your belly starts to expand rapidly, showing the world existence of the baby inside of your body. During this stage of pregnancy you may face some pregnancy problems such as difficulty sleeping and cramping. At this stage, the growth of hair and senses of the baby develops gradually and at the closing of this second trimester your baby will be around 10 inches (25cm), you will also start to feel your baby kick you as they move around.

Third semesterThe third trimester is the final stages of pregnancy and the big build up to labor and delivery. In the third trimester you will feel enormous changes, as your belly is fully grown to the point that it may feel as though it will burst.

All of the stages of pregnancy are very important and although some of the changes are frightening, there is nothing to be worried about. A pregnant woman should be careful at every stage of pregnancy for the health of the baby, this will also ensure an easier delivery and reduce the chance of any complexities.
