Stress during Pregnancy
If one thing is almost certain, it is that you will experience some form of stress at some time during your pregnancy. It's human nature, in fact some of us require a certain level of stress just to get us out of the bed in the morning. For others, stress helps them to achieve the kind of levels of performance they desire or need in order to get through the day.
However, too much stress during pregnancy is not a good thing. It is impossible to remove every last thread of stress, so it is not worth even trying. Yet if you're the kind of person who already has a stressful life or suffers from anxiety it is definitely worth looking at ways to avoid stressful situations and how to give you the best chance of remaining relaxed for the most part of your pregnancy.
One of the ways to reduce stress during pregnancy would be to look at all of the different areas in your life that usually raise the blood pressure. For example, travelling to work on the underground system or a busy bus might be an incredibly stressful situation, there might even be an additional risk to your baby should you be on an overcrowded bus. So you might want to consider asking your place of work whether you could work at home one day a week, or perhaps they would share the cost of an alternative way to get to work.
You can also reduce stress during pregnancy by taking in light exercise, swimming and yoga are excellent examples of this. If you continue to exercise during pregnancy, you will feel a lot healthier, it will also encourage you to sleep better in the evenings. A healthy body and a fresh alert mind is the perfect armour against stress during pregnancy.
